Bursary recipients are expected to work for Standard Bank should they receive an offer of employment from the Bank upon completing their studies.

Undergraduate Bursary:

The Standard Bank Group Undergraduate Bursary is specifically aimed at students who are progressing towards successfully completing their first year and require financial assistance from their second year onwards. Applicants should possess well-rounded profiles with strong academic performance in accredited qualifications.

Minimum selection criteria include:

  • Attainment of an average score of 65% and above in the most recent examinations.

Postgraduate Bursary:

The Standard Bank Group Postgraduate Bursary provides comprehensive financial support to deserving and academically proficient students seeking to pursue postgraduate studies in the supported fields of study.

  • Applicants must have obtained an average score of 65% or higher in their most recent examinations.
  • Applicants must be enrolled in full-time postgraduate studies at a public South African institution of higher learning.
  • Applicants will undergo a formal assessment process, which may include Psychometric evaluation and an interview.

Bursary Overview:

The Standard Bank Group Bursary Fund provides comprehensive financial coverage, encompassing the following study and study-related expenses:

  • University tuition fees.
  • Accommodation – either in university residences or private accommodations, with costs for private accommodations subject to specific limits, communicated to successful candidates upon provisional bursary allocation.
  • Meals are either provided by the university or self-catered.

  • A laptop computer.
