This fellowship empowers entrepreneurs globally, including those in the United States, who utilize technology to promote social and financial inclusion while addressing equity disparities in wealth, education, and accessibility. Supported by Capital One, Deloitte, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Arnold & Porter, the EquityTech Fellowship focuses on various sectors such as FinTech, Future of Work, Assistive Tech, and EdTech.


Selected fellows receive the following benefits:

  • A $10,000 USD equity-free stipend per venture for travel expenses to attend residencies
  • An eight-week residency at Halcyon’s facilities in Georgetown, Washington, DC
  • Tailored training on investment readiness, product-market fit, and leadership
  • Pro bono legal support
  • Pro bono consulting services from Deloitte
  • Leadership coaching from certified coaches
  • $10,000 USD in Amazon Cloud credits
  • Access to a community of over 500 impact-driven entrepreneurs


  • Seeking (for-profit) EquityTech ventures worldwide
  • Applicants should possess a Minimum Viable Product that demonstrates potential for scalability.
  • Teams can consist of up to one co-founder
  • The applicant must be the CEO or have primary decision-making authority
  • Proficiency in English
  • Candidates must be at least 21 years of age at the commencement of the program.
  • Commitment to participating in all activities and programming sessions
  • Creating a product and enterprise that contributes to achieving one or more of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Furthermore, each application undergoes assessment based on four key criteria: Impact, Scalability, Innovation, and Talent.

Selection Process:

The program entails:

  • A virtual program kickoff meeting
  • An in-person residency lasting eight weeks in Washington, DC

Selection Criteria:

  • Impact: Assessing the solution’s potential impact on society and/or the environment if scaled.
  • Scalability: Determining if the venture could expand to serve hundreds of thousands or millions of users within 5–10 years.
  • Innovation: Evaluating whether the solution presents a new approach to addressing the issue.
  • Talent: Examining the team’s qualifications to address the identified challenges effectively.

  • July 2024: Finalists invited to a virtual pitch with the Selection Committee
  • July 2024: Selected fellows notified
  • September 6: Virtual program kickoff (tentative)
  • From September 23 to November 15, 2024, there will be an in-person residency in Washington, DC.
