In recent times, Nigeria has encountered unprecedented economic challenges, ostensibly stemming from the recession, a decline in oil revenues, and the impact of the coronavirus. According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), the youth unemployment rate in Nigeria surged to 53.40 percent in the fourth quarter of 2020, up from 40.80 percent in the second quarter of the same year.

During this crucial period in the nation’s history, Nigeria is in dire need of a cohort of leaders who are attuned to global trends and ready to leverage the immense opportunities presented by the current digital revolution for the overall advancement of the people. Having missed the potential of the agricultural and industrial ages, it would be disastrous for the nation to miss out again in the era of the digital revolution.

The SAIL Teachers’ Fellowship is an intensive three-month continuous professional development program designed to bring together 4000 teachers from all 36 states in Nigeria. The program aims to enhance their agency through a tailored curriculum that emphasizes innovative teaching methodologies, effective classroom management practices, and the integration of technology for teaching and learning.
